This site is dedicated to the memory of Harriet Gerlach.

This fund has been created in memory of the late Harriet Gerlach - a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother who sadly passed away on 9th August 2010 aged 79 due to chronic lung disease. Harriet was born in Stirling and was one of 4 children. She married her beloved Kurt in 1952 after meeting in Stirling train station on a dark evening where Kurt offered to walk Harriet home. From there love blossomed, they married and their only daughter Hellen followed in 1953. Harriet was a school cook until her retirement & all her family have fond memories of her amazing baking! She catered for functions for the local council & was an active member & caterer of the twinning project 'The Odenwald Association' for many years. Harriet was also very inquisitive and loved nothing more than standing at the 'front gate' chatting to neighbours & passers by. She also loved travelling, especially by car with Kurt to visit family and friends in Kurt's native Germany. Harriet was one of life's gems and generous to the end. She lived for her family and her generosity extended not only to close family members but to friends and neighbours alike. Her family, husband Kurt, daughter Hellen, son in law William, grandchildren Scott & Vicky and greatgrandson Evan, together with her brother Harry will all miss her so very much. As a memory to Harriet we would like to raise money for the British Lung Foundation to help others like her. We sincerely thank those who take the time to donate to such a good cause.
